It's strange because, as you point out, the selling point is more jobs, but what kind of jobs at what cost? It's like being told that it's better to return to peasant "organic" farming because it will create more jobs than modern farming. Why? Because weed killers will be banned and lots of people will be required to pull weeds (I've actually seen that in France).
